HALEY FINNEGAN

Haley Finnegan is an actress and filmmaker who is making her mark in the entertainment industry by taking on and creating buzzworthy roles and projects.

This year, Finnegan will make her Tribeca Film Festival debut with her short film, “Westfalia,” which she not only stars in but directed, wrote and produced. The comedy follows couple, Emelia (Finnegan) and Brody (Bryan Flynn) who aspire to be Insta-famous, which according to Emelia but not Brody, an engagement post will do just that. Nevertheless, they pack their camping gear....and best camera equipment, for a road trip in a 1984 Westfalia Vanagon, to find those perfect Instagramable moments and grow their following. However, it doesn’t even come close to their nemesis / couple rivals, Instagram star, Laura Lawson Visconti, and former pro- snowboarder, Nick Visconti, (both playing versions of themselves) who’s following somehow organically doubled overnight. From there, Emelia and Brody devise a master plan to sneak onto Nick’s and Laura’s Instagram Stories and steal their followers.

The film showcases the hard work and countless takes put into curating that perfect likable post and feed and how important social media has become in society whether you are using it to boost your profile in a “traditional” career path or as an influencer to impressing your friends. The dialogue is also mostly improvised in Finnegan’s film directorial debut. “Westfalia” premiered at the Mammoth Film Festival in February 2019 and will make its East Coast Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival as a Funhouse selection on April 26, 2019. Additionally, Haley will attend the Montclair Film Festival on May 12th and the Hoboken International Film Festival on May 19th.

Finnegan is known for her work on several Christopher Guest (“This is Spinal
Tap”) projects, and for her roles in Robert Luketic’s “Paranoia” [Relativity Media] alongside Liam Hemsworth and Amber Heard, and in the podcast turned hit Amazon Series, “LORE.” Her career began in New York where she booked her first series, “Spirits: The Series” (Webby Awards - Honorable Mention). Her work on “Paragon Algorithm” was featured at the Hoboken Film Festival and Manhattan Film Festival. While performing improv at The PIT in New York, the former CEO of Meow Mix scouted her to be the face of his pet news web series, “K9 & the City,” where she worked on stories featuring Hilary Swank, Martha Stewart, Howard Stern. After moving to Los Angeles for “Paranoria,” she unknowingly auditioned for Christopher Guest and then worked on several of his improvised projects. She frequents the LA improv stages including UCB, Second City, and The Ruby (formerly The Nerdist) with her Impov team titled, Chased By Bear.

Originally from New Jersey, Finnegan now resides in Los Angeles.
